Reading Club Party

On August 16  we had the BIG Reading Club Party with special guest star, the Magic Guy.  Over 240 library enthusiasts enjoyed watching the Fantastical Magical Wonder Show at the Cornwall Civic Complex.
How do library staff get ready for a program?  Take a look at this:

Freddie is in Court?

Freddie is at the Ontario Courthouse to prove that reading is NOT a crime.  In fact, he is so enthusiastic about reading that he is pleading his case to Assistant Crown Attorney, Jason Pilon.   As you can see, they did plenty of research to make sure that they are both on the right track.

After his meeting with the Assistant Crown Attorney Pilon, Freddie joined Constable Ron Lefebvre, Constable Steven Fleming and Kevin Malloy in a meeting.  What was said is still a mystery as their work is quite hush-hush.

Freddie is on fire!

Camping season is here! Freddie is looking forward to spending time outdoors.  But first, he wants to make sure that he knows all the safety precautions he must take while making a campfire.  The best people to ask are Cornwall’s Finest, the team of firefighters at Headquarters Station on Fourth Street West.
At the fire station, they asked him if he wanted to try out one of the trucks.
Freddie, who was quite excited, said “Yes, please!”
He looks quite spiffy, doesn’t he?

Firefighter Jeff McIntyre was on hand to show him the ropes.  He even allowed him to climb on the truck.  That was nice of him.

Don’t get any ideas Freddie!  You are NOT allowed to drive the truck out of the station.

What a day.  Thank you Cornwall firefighters!

Freddie Arrested?

No!  Freddie can’t be arrested!  What has he done wrong?  Library staff Melissa is quickly on the scene to find out.

Nope, he’s just testing out the seat in a real honest to goodness patrol cruiser from the Cornwall Community Police.  Constable Maxwell was on hand to show him the ropes.

Whew!  What a relief.   We wouldn’t want a bad Freddie Bear working for the library, would we?

A View From The Roof

Freddie has been showing his friends many of his favorite spots at the library in Cornwall.  A great place to admire the city is from the roof, as you can clearly see.
Unfortunately, only Freddie and his friends can visit the roof.  Humans are not allowed!  This is why these pictures are extra special.
Here is a great view of St. John’s Presbyterian Church on Second Street.

Here, you can see part of the Seaway Building as well as the Seaway International Bridge.

Is the roof the only place where Freddiend his friends will visit?  We’ll soon find out!

Freddie is hard at work

Being Freddie Bear is difficult work.  He studied long and hard so he could offer great library programs to Cornwall kids.   Here he is, doing his homework.

He also takes the time to share ideas with his friends.  Wait!  I think his study partner is talking on his smartphone.

Hi there! My name is Freddie Bear!

Hello everyone,

This is the official home of the Cornwall Public Library Freddie Bear program.  Freddy will be sharing his adventures with you from this blog, so don't forget to visit this site often.

You're wondering who Freddie is?  Here's a picture of him:

Yes indeed, he's hard at work planning for the next Freddie Bear Club meeting.

Working bears need peace and quiet.  I wonder where all his friends are?

Talk to you soon!
